Dallas W. Newsom (1873-1949) was a realtor, university registrar, poet, and Durham County manager in the 1930s and 1940s. His daughter, Dorothy Newsom Rankin (1922-2002) was a local civic leader and historic preservationist. This digital collection consists of newspaper clippings, administrative reports, sheet music, and other materials related to the history of Durham and the lives and careers of Newsom and Rankin.
