Abstract/Description: A representative from Long Meadow Farms, on left, receiving a certificate of merit from Dr. Epperson, superintendent of health for the Durham County Department of Public Health. Certificate reads: "The Durham County Department of Public Health awards this certificate of merit to Long Meadow Farms in recognition of the valuable service rendered in the field of public health by the inclusion of modern equipment in the processing plant and by the transition to the bulk tank method of harvesting producer milk, which has resulted in more efficient and sanitary milk-handling methods both at the plant and at the farms. This merit award is presented in recognition of the degree of excellence attained this twenty-eighth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-seven, at Durham, North Carolina. 1957."
