Abstract/Description: | Twenty-six males of varying ages, ancestry, and economy are pictured on the grounds of the house of W. Albert Wilkerson on Wilkerson Avenue. The owner was the first building contractor in Durham, and the house was the first to be built on the avenue named for him. Wilkerson also built the Epworth Inn and the Washington Duke home. Wilkerson Avenue burned in 1905. |
