Ice Department

Abstract/Description: | Photo is of large drive-in warehouse just off railroad tracks. A later photo shows this to be the location not only of the 'Light and Power' sign, but also of the Durham Traction Company, Durham's trolley company. This building was replaced by the Duke Power Marketing building in the 1970s. It faced what is now Vivian Street on the corner of Blackwell. The American Tobacco complex on Blackwell Street is in the right background of the photograph. |
