Six Members of the Bronze Wing

Abstract/Description: The Bronze Wing was a club formed by Durham Black World War II veterans in 1947. All were certified licensed pilots, having been taught by Civil Aeronautics Administration personnel. One of the seven original members was Burly R. Page, who had trained with the famous 99th Pursuit Squadron at Tuskegee, Alabama, as had Ernest "Skip" Norwood. Other former Durham members were Joseph Johnson, J. Clifton Thompson, Everett Leon Goldston, and John R. Bridges.
