Abstract/Description: Shearin (1901-1989) was the only daughter of Dr. C.C. Spaulding (President of North Carolina Mutual Life). She attended Scotia Seminary and Fisk University, studying music, piano and composition. She founded the Chamberlain Studio, and taught music in Durham for 60 years.
